It is a pleasure to invite PhD  and ECR researchers to the 'Emotion, Engagement, Experience' TECHNE Researcher Conference. The conference is organized by TECHNE research students and will take place at Amnesty International UK Human Rights Action Centre 17-25 New Inn Yard London EC2A 3EA on the 9th of November 2017 from 10am to 5pm, with drinks to 6 pm

The Conference Theme

“Engagement, Emotion, Experience” is the theme of this year’s TECHNE conference. These three words describe the researcher’s position. We are interested in the complex relationships between scholarship and academia and the wider world, both as human experience and as professional practice.

We are pleased and proud to announce that the guest speaker will be Dr J. Milo Taylor, artist, filmmaker, musician, composer and researcher. In addition to his artistic practice,
Dr Taylor is a Course Leader of Creative Research into Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP) at the London College of Communication.

.

Together, through talks, panels, films, performance and round-table workshops,  we will explore how the passion and process of research engages with the world, and how this affects the researcher, as both personal and professional journey.

We'll look at questions of impact, public engagement and interdisciplinarity, and imagine  new pathways for our research.

Finally, we'll share innovative ways of communicating and directing outputs, performance and publishing methods. We will examine and discuss ways that “traditional” disciplines are finding new or reinvigorated processes of dissemination and reception.

The conference is open to ALL PhD and ECR researchers.and must be booked on Eventbrite.

booking deadline Nov 2.

Your ticket includes the conference, all refreshments, lunch and after-drinks all at the beautiful Amnesty International HQ in downtown Shoreditch.
